When you are getting the removals ready, you will no doubt be pretty taken up with all the more obvious things that need sorting throughout the days leading up to the big day itself that there can be a few bits that you neglect to sort until the last minute. In other instances, you may have decided to get a full service including packing, and are wondering what else there is that you may need to get sorted in order to ensure that you are doing the best removal that you can. In these instances, the best thing to do is think about what it is that you can be doing to tidy up any odds and ends, and generally make the whole process that little bit easier.

You would be surprised at the number of different things that there are that you can do to ensure that you are getting the best out of your removal, and it is certainly the case that you should be thinking about them at all times throughout the move to ensure that everything goes to plan.

If you have a packing service, then there will still be a little work for you to do. You will likely need things from one room in your current house in a different room in the new house, say if you had a load of books in your bedroom, that you wanted to be in the study in the new house. These sorts of things will mean that you should do a little work beforehand, top ensure that you don;t have to do loads of shifting around at the new place, as this would undo much of the work that you paid for in your unpacking service!

A labeling system can be perfect for this, simply putting down some post-it notes over the areas that you want delivered to different rooms will sometimes be enough, especially if you do a quick run through of the various instructions with the packing team. Alternatively, you could supply them with a plan of the houses and identify where you want things to go on each of them. Noting down such things and ensuring that the packing and unpacking teams have them will ensure that you are able to relax both before and after the removal, in that you will hardly have to lift a finger, and your new place will be totally in order!

Other than organizing the packing services, there are things that you can do to make the whole thing easier and even cheaper! The amount of stuff that the removals company have to move, or the packing service have to put in to packing boxes dictates the price, and this is essentially what constitutes your overall cost. Load equals money so to speak. So, lower your load!

If you can make sure that you are in a position where you have as little to move as possible, then you will be in a much more useful position than you would be if there was a lot to get shifted! Thinking this way, why not look around the house for things that you don;t really need or want to be in the new place, as this will reduce the price, the workload as well as the amount of clutter in the new place! You can auction it, have a jumble sale, give it to charity or recycle it, it doesn’t matter, at least you won’t have to deal with it any other time!
